All of a sudden feeling overwhelmed at how much there is to learn. Have decided I will spend this entire year clocking up some experience and doing as many free shoots as I can. My first is in just under two weeks and I want to have a couple of new lenses and perhaps even a speedlight by then. I have a few of newborn sessions to do and I know how important it will be to replicate natural light indoors with a decent flash. Could get pricey! Totally worth it though and my bday is coming up after all :) I have a lot to get through and I already spend most of my spare time taking on photography, could take some late nights on photoshop I am thinking!
Fin and I went to the beach today and I spent the entire time using manual settings, yay me! The results were pleasing...
I also got this cheeky little shot of Fin eating his baked beans for lunch, I love this cheesy grin he pulls
Until next time,
B xx

yay for manual settings! You'll never go back :)
ReplyDeleteSunset photos are the best. :D
ReplyDeleteISO, f-stop/aperture, and shutter speed are your babies in terms of perfecting exposure.
Here's a good site/page to read about it all: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/camera-exposure.htm
Thanks ladies!!! Will check that link out Laura. Perth is seriously the ultimate place to get BEAUTIFUL light in the evenings and the best sunsets. There are only ever a few clouds and the days are so long and sunny :)
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome that Perth is on the West coast, sunsets on the beach!
ReplyDeleteUse your ISO :) and perhaps the white balance ;) I know I can change mine to make it look more natural esp if harsh fluoro lighting etc :) also you need a remote and a stand alone flash :) you could get about 3 of those ;)
ReplyDeletewill pop that booklet to you that has details of the exposure triangle and other stuff ;) ISO 500/SS500/AP 5.6 works well with monkeys :) obviously if you have hte ISO up high to be inside without flash (and the shutter speed really slow the tripod will be necessary) xxx
